*Technology resources that I utilize in the classroom to enhance instruction and assessment:
- SmartBoard
- Document Camera
- Ipads and other smart tablets
- Edmodo: A professional learning community for teachers, students, and parents. I have used Edmodo to collaborate with other colleagues, seek a variety of abundant technological and instructional resources, and to connect students to a "digital classroom domain" for assessments, homework assignments, classroom blogging, announcements, and content resources.
- Socrative: A smart student response system that empowers teachers by engaging their classrooms with a series of educational exercises, games, and assessments. Socrative runs on tablets, smartphones, and laptops. I have used Socrative to administer formative and summative assessments to my students. I really enjoy using Socrative because I am given instant, detailed feedback on student assessments.
- Vizaroo: A learner response system that allows students to give responses and feedback using digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and computers. Vizaroo collects the student responses and displays them in graphic organizers such as webs, maps, charts, venn diagrams, etc. This student response system increases student engagement through active participation. Using an internet connected device, such as a smartphone or a laptop, students share their thoughts for the whole class to see.
- Class Dojo: A behavior management system and classroom tool that captures and generates data on behavior that teachers can share with parents and administrators. I have used this management tool to quickly and easily award positive feedback points for behavior in class, without disrupting instruction. I can note all types of feedback with just one click of a mouse and project the image on the white screen so that students can visualize the feedback you are giving them. I have found that Class Dojo motivates the students to behave appropriately during class and encourages the students to work hard for positive feedback.
- VoiceThread: A digital media resource that allows students to create images, documents, videos, and presentations using voice (text or microphone), text, audiofile, videos, and webcam to produce and share media in collaborative spaces. I have used Voicethread as an as a differentiated instruction strategy and as an assessment tool.
- Glogster: A global education platform for the creative expression of knowledge, skills, application, and synthesis. Glogster is a technology tool that allows students to create online multimedia posters and webpages using text, photos, graphics, sounds, drawings, data attachments, etc. I would like to have the opportunity to use Glogster EDU as a form of assessment for my students.
- Grapholite: an online technology tool that allows students to design and create all types of graphics including: flowcharts, floor plans, office layouts, designs, diagrams, organizational charts, mind maps, venn charts, bpmn diagrams, web-site structures, and technical drawings.
